Southeastern Louisiana whips Nicholls State 35-16
THIBODAUX, La. (AP) Xavier Roberson returned a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and added 89 yards rushing, Rasheed Harrell ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns, and Southeastern Louisiana cruised to a 35-16 victory over Nicholls State on Thursday night.
The Lions (5-6, 5-2 Southland Conference) took advantage of two turnovers to take a 14-0 lead.
Southeastern's first touchdown came after the Lions recovered Devan Walker's fumble at the Nicholls State 42. Harrell ran it in from the 3 line for a 7-0 lead.
Todd Washington then intercepted Landry Klann's pass to give the Lions the ball at Nicholls State's 39. Harrell ran six times on the drive, scoring from the 4 for a 14-0 advantage.
Jeremy Myers caught three passes, two for touchdowns.
Klann threw for 211 yards and a touchdown for Nicholls State (1-9, 0-7), which has lost seven games in a row.
