Analysis: Wood was placed on injured reserve after he was hurt in Buffalo's 14-13 win at Tennessee. Starting running back LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is out indefinitely. Backup Karlos Williams (concussion) has a chance to return Sunday, when Buffalo (3-2) hosts Cincinnati (5-0).

In the second quarter against the Titans, Wood was carted to the locker room with an injured knee that will keep him out the rest of the game. Wood only carried twice for 3 yards when hurt.
Analysis: Already, LeSean McCoy was missing his second consecutive game trying to heal up his injured hamstring, while backup Karlos Williams was out as he recovers from a concussion. Wood's departure leaves Buffalo very thin at running back, with Boobie Dixon and Boom Herron.

Wood, an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, appeared in five games split between Houston and New England in 2013. He was on Seattle's roster last season, but did not appear in any games.
Analysis: He joins a patchwork backfield that's down to two running backs, undrafted rookies Bronson Hill and Ricky Seale. The Bills signed Seale on Tuesday to replace Williams.
