Analysis: The New York Jets quarterback negotiated for the number with punter Ryan Quigley, who previously wore No. 1, during workouts and the two came to an agreement. Quigley gave it up on condition that Vick pay $10,000 for it and donate all of the money to charity.
Apr. 29 2:29 PM PT3:29 PM MT4:29 PM CT5:29 PM ET21:29 GMT5:29 AM 北京时间2:29 PM MST4:29 PM EST4:29 PM CT1:29 UAE (+1)17:29 ET20:29 - New York Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg says the competition this summer between Geno Smith and Michael Vick will "work beautifully" as the two vie for the starting quarterback job.
Analysis: Mornhinweg insists during a conference call Tuesday that the Jets signed Vick last month for the "important role" to push Smith, who was rocky in his rookie season, and make him a better quarterback. The Jets offensive coordinator also says a priority of his is to make sure "nothing impedes the young quarterback's progression." Mornhinweg says Smith will take the first snaps with the starting offense when the team begins on-field practices in a few weeks.

Analysis: Vick was a free agent after spending the last five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be reunited with Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who helped the quarterback have the best season of his career in Philadelphia in 2010.
Mar. 6 4:40 PM PT5:40 PM MT6:40 PM CT7:40 PM ET0:40 GMT8:40 AM 北京时间5:40 PM MST7:40 PM EST6:40 PM CT4:40 UAE (+1)19:40 ET23:40 - Two people familiar with the situation say Michael Vick and the Eagles haven't ruled out the quarterback returning to Philadelphia. Vick will become a free agent next week, and the four-time Pro Bowl pick has made it clear he'll look for an opportunity to be a starter. One person says that if Vick doesn't find the right fit elsewhere, he would consider staying in Philadelphia.
Analysis: Both people spoke to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because they're not discussing contract negotiations publicly. Nick Foles replaced an injured Vick last year, led the Eagles to an NFC East title and was Pro Bowl MVP. Vick revived his career in Philadelphia, was the AP's 2010 Comeback Player of the Year and started in the Pro Bowl that season.
