July 30 1:38 PM PT2:38 PM MT3:38 PM CT4:38 PM ET20:38 GMT4:38 1:38 PM MST3:38 PM EST0:38 UAE (+1)22:3816:38 ET3:38 PM CT19:38 - Bosh has signed his $118 million, five-year contract to stay with the Miami Heat.
Analysis: The team says Bosh signed the deal Wednesday. The sides agreed on the terms earlier this month, but the paperwork could not be completed because Bosh was on a lengthy international vacation and needed to undergo a physical before signing. Bosh is entering his fifth season with the Heat. He was the first player to commit to the Heat this summer after LeBron James' announcement that he was leaving Miami and returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
July 13 11:49 AM PT12:49 PM MT1:49 PM CT2:49 PM ET18:49 GMT2:49 11:49 AM MST1:49 PM EST22:49 UAE20:4914:49 ET1:49 PM CT17:49 - Bosh is staying in Miami because of his family, and because he believes the Heat will still be competitive even without LeBron James. He made his comments Sunday in a telephone interview with The Associated Press from Ghana, where he's been doing some work with NBA Africa in recent days while taking a break from a family vacation.
Analysis: Bosh says he was tempted by an offer to join the Houston Rockets. He says he turned it down because his decision hinged on more than "the business of basketball" and instead revolved largely around the fact that his wife and children are happy in South Florida. He'll soon be signing a five-year, $118 million contract to stay with the Heat.
July 11 2:36 PM PT3:36 PM MT4:36 PM CT5:36 PM ET21:36 GMT5:36 2:36 PM MST4:36 PM EST1:36 UAE (+1)23:3617:36 ET4:36 PM CT20:36 - Two people familiar with the situation say that Chris Bosh has agreed to a maximum deal with the Miami Heat. The people said that Bosh will be getting a five-year deal worth about $118 million. The people spoke to The Associated Press on Friday on condition of anonymity because neither the team nor Bosh had publicly announced the deal.
Analysis: Bosh's deal comes not long after LeBron James announced earlier Friday he was leaving the Heat for a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Heat are continuing to negotiate with Dwyane Wade, the other member of what was the Miami "Big 3" that went to the NBA Finals in each of the last four seasons.
