He had spent his entire eight-year career with Toronto before going to Detroit in a three-team deal that included Memphis' Rudy Gay. Analysis: A starting point guard was the top priority for Dallas after the pursuit of Dwight Howard. The Mavericks were among five teams pursuing the free agent center, but owner Mark Cuban said Friday he was told Dallas was out of the running. Calderon spent his first seven years with Toronto before the Raptors traded him to Detroit in January.
