Analysis: Liggins had been playing for the Heat's NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 35 games he averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals, and he made the league's all-star team. Liggins has played in 56 NBA games for Oklahoma City and Orlando.

Analysis: Defense attorney, Tony Coleman, said Wednesday that prosecutors are expected to refile the charge as a single misdemeanor count of domestic abuse. Coleman declined further comment. Liggins was originally charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of domestic abuse in the presence of a minor and one count of violating a protective order. He was arrested Aug. 31 after his girlfriend told police he attacked her in front of their 2-year-old son.
